Kevin Conroy Would 'Aboslutely' Do a Justice League Video Game

During an interview with Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy, he expressed interest doing a Justice League game with developer Rocksteady. While Rocksteady has said they won't be doing anymore Batman games, fans have voiced their desire for the franchise to continue in a Justice League game. We asked Conroy if he was interested in doing a Justice League game with Rocksteady and he responded enthusiastically.

"Oh yeah! Absolutely," he said. "I would love to do that. It's really hard to record games and very hard to create them, but the result is so rewarding that it makes it worthwhile at the end."

Despite Batman: Arkham Knight's story ending in explosive fashion, Conroy has hopes that the game series will continue.

SEGA Financials Report Dramatic Decrease in Sales

SEGA's most recent financial earnings report was not a wholly positive one.

Reporting a decrease of 42 percent in net sales, the publisher reports sales earnings of ¥52.9 billion ($426 million), operating losses of ¥9.5 billion ($76 million), and net losses of ¥7.9 billion ($63.8 million).

SEGA representatives largely attribute the decrease in sales figures to global economies, with additional issues arising from the reported decrease in demand for game software, amusement centers, and amusement machines in Japan.

"The economy still remained in the condition requiring further time for full recovery due to uncertainty towards a downswing in overseas economies arising from factors such as the slowdown of growth in the economies of emerging countries and European debt crisis," SEGA said.

Capcom Exploring Resident Evil 2 Remake

Capcom is looking into remaking Resident Evil 2.

Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi revealed on the official Resident Evil Facebook page that he was presenting his ideas for a Resident Evil 2 project to the company. "Right after the

HD Remaster project was finished, I actually started putting together my ideas for this 'RE2 Project,'" he said. "So, I just brushed it up and went to see my boss to present the basic concept of the project already."

Hirabayashi has worked on the Resident Evil series for years, contributing to the GameCube remake, Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. He expressed his excitement earlier this week about a Resident Evil 2 remake after Capcom R&D Division 1 asked fans if they would be interested by such a project. The response was quite positive.

Indie Game Prices are Too High, Says Indie Dev

Zeboyd Games' Robert Boyd has some strong opinions about the current state of indie game prices.

"I've seen a disturbing trend of more and more indie games launching at higher prices recently," he wrote candidly on a NeoGAF post. "Whereas $10-$15 was the norm for non-mobile indie games not that long ago, it feels like more and more $20 is becoming the standard."

According to Boyd, having a reduced price tag often means games can be more lucrative and successful for their creators.

"Lower prices often benefit both players and the developer. Lower prices mean more people play your game. Lower prices often result in more positive reviews," he said.

Witcher 3 Patch Targets Performance Issues, Adds New Potion

CD Projekt Red has released a list of changes for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's next patch, which will be released "quite soon," according to the developer.

Patch 1.08 will mainly target performance issues, including those that may have been caused by the release of patch 1.07 earlier this month. The next patch also introduces the Wolven Hour potion, which reduces the level requirement on all gear for one hour. With patch 1.07, certain items' level requirements were increased, leaving some players with unusable gear. Wolven Hour will give players an hour to either level up or find usable equipment. It will be added to every player's inventory once the new patch is installed.

How Zombi Will be Adapted for PS4, Xbox One and PC

Ubisoft has gone into detail about how the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of Zombi have been adapted to function without the Wii U Gamepad.

Upon it's original release, much was made of how Zombi U utilised the Gamepad to create a sense of tension and claustrophobia, with you needing to split your attention between the two screens to avoid facing an untimely death. Naturally, with just one screen to play with this time around, certain fans are concerned we're looking at just another zombie shooter, rather than the tense and original affair that was the original.

Now, the developer has penned a blog post trying to alleviate concerns. The map has been moved to the main screen, though it will disappear when not required in order to keep a minimal HUD and high sense of immersion.

Star Wars Battlefront Gets a New Multiplayer Mode

A new multiplayer mode in Star Wars Battlefront will give players the option to engage in close-quarters encounters instead of its featured large-scale battles.

Called Blast, this mode pits players against each other in a 10 versus 10 team deathmatch face-off between the Imperial and Rebel forces.

Like other deathmatch modes, the winning team in Blast must either score 100 kills or be in the lead by the end of the 10-minute round.

Developer DICE stresses Blast maps will not be scaled-down versions of those found in regular multiplayer. Rather, they'll be specially-designed close-quarters maps taking place within the interiors of several key settings for battles in Battlefront. Locations including the interior of Endor, the canyons of Tattooine, and the ice caves of Hoth will all be featured as Blast mode maps.

Life Is Strange: Episode 4 Review

Developer Dontnod has a lot to answer for with Life Is Strange: Episode 4 -- Dark Room. It begins and ends with emotionally charged scenes that remind me why I like main character Max Caulfield so much. She’s a compassionate, believable protagonist stuck in an ugly sequence of events that’s resistant to change, no matter how hard she tries. That said, this up-and-down three-hour episode betrays a lot of what makes her special.

Dark Room is the most inconsistent episode in Life Is Strange so far. The two hours between the excellent prologue and the finale advances the story slowly, and spends most of its time rehashing of what Life Is Strange has already done better before. The story and choices swing wildly from believable lucid to incomprehensible and gross. At times, Dark Room is just plain cheap. Max’s major choices here don’t suit her behavior, or are shocking for the sake of shock value, and that’s really disappointing.

Windows 10's Xbox App Is Pretty Damn Good

In the lead up to Windows 10’s launch, Microsoft has spoken often about gaming on its new operating system. For Xbox gamers, that translates to integration with Xbox One (and indirectly, Xbox 360), so that the platforms aren't so walled off from each other. The Xbox App is one such element of that integration—and it's quite good, even for something that isn't yet 100% polished.

When you first log in, you’ll land on the Home screen, which shows multiple elements split between three columns: recent games you’ve played, a shortcut to begin game streaming, games that Microsoft has featured, a recent activity feed collating everything you and your friends have done, a user search field, and your friends list.

Assassin's Creed Director Talks "Heart and History" of the Game

The long-gestating movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed rolls before cameras very soon, and we spoke to the film’s director about why he wants to adapt the long-running video game series.

While chatting with Justin Kurzel about his acclaimed version of Macbeth – which hits UK screens on October 2 – we asked him why he thinks Ubisoft's historical action-adventure will make a good movie.

“Because I think there’s so much underneath it,” he explained. “I don’t think it’s your typical shoot-em-up game. I don’t think it’s your typical one-dimensional game. It has a heart and a history to it.

“The whole idea of memories and the whole idea of we are made up of who comes before us and within us we carry the DNA of our ancestors and we have access to those ancestors and they somehow speak to who we are now – that is just an incredibly strong, human kind of curious thing, so I think that there is something there that’s really original and really fresh and it’s no wonder it has 90 million players. There’s got to be something more than just the fun of playing it. There’s definitely a culture to it that people really respond to.”

A Brief History of Metal Gear Solid

This is an extract from A Brief History of Videogames by Richard Stanton, available now. (It's rather good.)

Metal Gear Solid is one of video gaming’s longest-running, most critically acclaimed and commercially successful series. Hailed by fans as the greatest games ever, scorned by detractors for narrative indulgences, and leaving many in the middle baffled either way, Metal Gear Solid is also notable for its indelible link to creator/director Hideo Kojima. The auteur theory is always dodgy ground with modern big-budget video games, which are made by teams of hundreds, but in this case the stamp of one man’s personality is all-pervasive and impossible to ignore.
