Next Need for Speed Update Adds Photo Mode, Improved Multiplayer, and More

The next game update for Need for Speed will bolster the game with improved multiplayer options, a new photo mode, a host of new customisation parts, the ability to share wraps, and more.

Details on the new multiplayer functionality are scant but Ghost Games' Ben Walke explained on the Need for Speed website that the team has "added a 'Competitive' option at the front menu which will see you placed in a game with other players who are also looking to race competitively." Need for Speed faced criticism upon release for lacking the ability for players to simply opt into multiplayer and rely on the game to take care of matchmaking and enlist you into a series of events.

The Venture Bros.: Season 6 Premiere Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

The two-and-a-half-year gap between the fifth and six seasons of The Venture Bros. is, unfortunately, par for the course at this point. There's a newfound sense of urgency with this new season, though. The Venture Bros. has acquired stiff new competition in the form of shows like Bojack Horseman and Rick and Morty, and this new season needs to prove that Team Venture still has what it takes to stand out. Luckily, it's clear from the Season 6 premiere that Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer haven't lost their edge.

It's remarkable how smoothly this episode transitions from the events of "All This and Gargantua-2" into the new status quo. It helps that the show has an unusually clean slate given how many running plot threads were wrapped up last time. "Hostile Makeover" picked up essentially right where that special left off. Dr. venture just inherited his brother's vast fortune and company, Dr Killinger has assumed control of the Guild of Calamitous Intent, and the Monarch is now homeless and living in his dilapidated childhood home. Everyone's fortunes have shifted, but as always, failure is the common thread that links every character together.

Thor: Ragnarok: How Verbal Will Hulk Be and Will Volstagg Return?

New Thor: Ragnarok details have been spotted in the wild.

In an interview with Hitfix, Ragnarok director Taika Waititi discussed the idea that Hulk will be more verbal, or at least more 'conscious', in the upcoming Marvel movie. "It's interesting, because at the moment, there's a big conversation that's happening about how far to push that. Whether or not The Hulk should be

", said Waititi. It seems, however, that the creative team behind the film like the idea that Hulk is more of a developed character this time around.

"I think a lot of those conversations have more to do with what's going to come up in future movies," Waititi said. "So I think a lot of those decisions are larger group decisions, rather than anything to do with just me or the writer. They have a lot of stuff that they have to consider. But I do think that's the best way to track it. I think we all want that. I think we all want to see that development and the evolution of that character. I also think you can do it in a fun way."

Captain Phasma Will Return in Star Wars: Episode 8

Warning: spoilers for Star Wars -- Episode 7 ahead.

Gwendoline Christie will return as Captain Phasma in Star Wars -- Episode VIII.

The actress made the confirmation to People on the SAG 2016 red carpet "I will be in the next Star Wars movie. I think that's an exclusive, actually," said Christie.

For those who have seen Episode 7, this will come as a welcome relief. Although Christie commanded attention every time she was onscreen, her character was curiously underused, and eventually sent to an indeterminable fate in a trash compactor.

In other recent Star Wars news, Disney has outlined how it intends to use VR in the Star Wars universe, and Episode 9 director Colin Trevorrow wants to shoot Episode 9 partially in outer space. For everything else, here's a roundup of what we know so far about the upcoming films.

Galavant: Season 2 Finale Review

This is our review of the second part of Galavant's Season 2 finale. Click here for our review of the first part.

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

The first part of Galavant's Season 2 finale ended on a cliffhanger. It's funny because this isn't a show with high stakes so no one in the audience really expected death. Still, the pause in the courtyard gave the story a few beats to breathe and gave the characters time to sink into their reunions. But first, there was a fantastic flashback.

Going back to Richard's youth gave Sonnyboy Skelton the opportunity to come back as young Gareth, and he couldn't be more perfect. He's like a miniature Vinnie Jones. Because of his performance and the dialogue, I spent most of the first minute of the episode laughing so hard I nearly cried. The song balanced that out by being earnest and melancholy with Alfie Simmons and Timothy Omundson both adding depth and emotion with their performances.

Galavant: "Battle of the Three Armies" Review

This is our review of the first part of Galavant's Season 2 finale. Click here for our review of the second part.

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

It's a sad Sunday because the Season 2 finale of Galavant is here. However, there is a bright side, and it's called the recap song. I've been looking forward to Ben Presley's Jester catching us up on the events of the season. Honestly, if Galavant was a full 22-episode per season series, I'd happily watch an entire clips show with the Jester narrating in song. It could work. Anyway, Presley killed it and they made it extra funny by putting a sort of "A Knight's Tale" twist on it. I'm not positive if it was intentional, but I couldn't help but think of Paul Bettany's Chaucer in that film.

Kung Fu Panda 3 Debuts Atop the Weekend Box Office

DreamWorks Animation's Kung Fu Panda 3 had an incredibly successful weekend, debuting atop the North American box office with an estimated $41 million.

While the animated feature falls a few million short of its predecessor Kung Fu Panda 2, which opened with $47.7 million domestically, it did mange to surpass the 2008 original's $60.2 million debut.

Meanwhile, Disney's The Finest Hours and Open Road's Fifty Shades of Black had far more modest opening weekends, debuting in fourth place with $10.3 million and ninth place with $6.2 million, respectively.

Last week's leader and Oscar contender The Revenant slipped to second place with $12.4 million, just ahead of the Disney and Lucasfilms' record-shattering space epic Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which placed third with $10.8 million.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: "The War for Dimension X" Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode follow.

So far, the undisputed big bads of Season 4 have been the Triceratons, but in a season where the name of the game is Space Travel, it was only a matter of time before the Kraang came back into the picture -- specifically the Utroms -- and this week's episode definitely made their latest appearance count.

The aptly titled "War for Dimension X" also featured the return of Mona Lisa and Commander Sal, who interestingly tried to form an alliance with the Kraang. (As the old saying goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.) And while the Salamandrians' capture was inevitable, their presence here definitely added to the already-impressive scale of this storyline.

Black Sails: "XX" Review

Warning: Full spoilers for the episode below.

Black Sails spared no expense for its twentieth chapter, taking Flint and his devoted crew into the heart of a brutal ship-wrecking tempest. All to avoid capture by Hornigold, with the added tension of Flint's crew actually having been offered full pardons for their crimes, but riding into the storm anyhow because of Flint's sweeping speech of madness. One that Silver even soon regretted getting caught under the spell of.

We've seen sea battles, land battles, and sea-to-land conflict, but this was Sails' first big experience with destructive weather. And it was pretty damn impressive. Watching Flint sacrifice his own men, in that particular regretful-yet-cold manner that we know only he can project. But then also watching him tie himself to the wheel of the ship during the most dangerous part of the journey while his crew took shelter below deck. So there was a lot of give and take here. And seeing Billy react to things helped layer the process even more given what Flint once did to him.

New Info on Other Wizarding Schools in Harry Potter Universe

J.K. Rowling has revealed new information about several other schools in her Wizarding World universe, beyond Harry Potter's famed school of Hogwarts. It turns out are only eleven "long-established and prestigious wizarding schools worldwide," all of which are properly regulated by the International Confederation of Wizards.

Given the sparsity of wizarding schools, "smaller and less well-regulated institutions" are bound to pop-up, though Rowling notes that she "cannot vouch for the standard of education they might offer."

In a series on Pottermore, Rowling discussed six of those eleven. Mahoutokoro is the smallest of the prestigious schools, and is set on the volcanic island of Minami Iwo Jima in Japan. Japanese wizards start school at age seven, but don't start boarding at school until age eleven. Students there wear enchanted robes that grow as they do, and "gradually change color as the learning of the wearer increases."

Instead, it's news footage of the 1992 Los Angeles Riots, the six-day fallout of the acquittal of the police officers who beat Rodney King, that sets the tone for the story being told.

In that way, it's especially fitting that The People v. O.J. Simpson debut in 2016, a time when racial tensions are again especially high in the United States. As the creators of the series explained recently, their intent with this reexamination of O.J. Simpson's trial wasn't to determine whether he was guilty or innocent, but to strive to explain why the case wasn't an easy win for the prosecution.

Bombshell Review

Bombshell throws you face-first into an absurd sci-fi quest to save the President of the United States, fronted by a gritty, ex-military, hardass alien hunter sporting a metal arm and prominent cleavage. It plays out exactly how that premise would lead you to expect. Coming from the publishers of Duke Nukem and the developers of 2013's Rise of the Triad reboot, it drips exactly the same kind of dudebro (or dude-sis, in this case?) self-aware ridiculousness as a Duke or a Serious Sam game. It makes no apologies for its story's shortcomings, preferring to focus on letting you atomize extraterrestrials in a variety of over-the-top ways.

New Justice League Animated Series Coming to Cartoon Network

Cartoon Network has announced a brand-new, quarter-hour animated series - Justice League Action - from Warner Bros. Animation, based on the iconic characters from DC Entertainment.

Kevin Conroy -- the famous voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne from the acclaimed 1990s Batman: The Animated Series and Arkham game series, among other Batman adaptations -- will make his return to the character for Justice League Action, marking the first time he's voiced Batman in an ongoing animated series since Justice League Unlimited ended in 2006.

In addition, Conroy's longtime animated antagonist, Mark Hamill, will return as the Joker, as part of a voice lineup that includes James Woods as Lex Luthor and Diedrich Bader (himself a former Batman, from the Brave and the Bold animated series) as Booster Gold. Warner Bros. notes there are more, still to be announced, cast members. Notably, we still don't know who is voicing Superman and Wonder Woman, despite their prominence in the first image from the series.
