What is Candid?

Candid is a way for you to voice your opinion about specific topics, without having your ideas linked to your personal information. Social media is a great way to share and view content from your friends. It's not always to best place to brag about your new orca-skin coat. When you share stuff like this, you may find friends start to judge you or even get really mad at you. Panasonic T31 not turning on

In my Panasonic t31 after inserting battery (without hitting power key) it repeatedly flashes Panasonic name and phone doesnot turns on. The Panasonic phone is rooted.
And also when i try to go in recovery mode using volume buttons and power key it does not goes in it and my device is also not starting just repeatedly moves in boot (Panasonic name) animation how can i fix it using pc.

Pocketable power bank charging at 3A?

I've looked around with no luck. Considering that most of the "lipstick" ones must have a regular 18650 battery inside, the 3A output is *amply* inside the range of good batteries output (several manufacturers offer 18650 batteries capable of constant 10A output with 3.500mAh capacity, I hope that there are products like this.

Chainfire root j500FN root problems suddenly not rooted anymore

I got it rooted but just the first apps that required root got access granted now when i use root checker or want to use a root firewall it says it's not rooted. Root checker says its not rooted. But i granted 4 apps and now suddenly its not rooted anymore. How can that happen i even got superSU pro. Tried to root again with Odin still same problem. Only got the 4 first apps i installed that required root then its not rooted anymore.

s7 exynos mobile radio active battery drain

hi everyone, i've recently gotten my s7 exynos version

noted that whatsapp has high battery usage, usually ranging 18-20%

under mobile radio active, it's running for several hours!

i thought this issue was supposed to be fixed with android 6.0? i'm running 6.0.1

SW3 drained, won't boot after hours charging

Hi everybody !!

I got a Smartwatch which have never been used before (unpacking it myself).

This Watch can't boot till android system (always turn off after sony SmartWatch logo)

but as i got it boxed for a very long time (about 1 year !!) i cannot use Sony warranty to repair
and i think battery was completely drained the first time i tried to turn it On

now, the only things that happens when i plug it on wall charger or computer is booting to Sony logo, battery icon then it turn off!!
in computer device manager i can see "Sony File-CD Gadget USB Device" and an empty removable disk in "My PC"
i tried everything "Xperia companion, ADB etc ..." all can't detect the SmartWatch !

i am very upset because it's a brandnew watch that can't be sent to sony service so help me mate !!

I'm trying to port CM10 (old system) to Galaxy Fame Lite (old and cheap phone). I may try to port a later version of CM if I succeed for CM10...

Huawei Notification Bug

Hello, I am interested in getting a Honor 8 but as a user of a Honor 6 I need to know if they fixed the bug who most annoyed me, the notifications coming up only for the stock app and the ones on the battery managment white list (Facebook, Whatsapp, gReader), I tried every possible way to activate notification for normal apps and games and always failed, I could receive them only with the app always open in the background.
Can someone confirm if games like Fate Grand Order, Granblue Phantasy or app like Amazon, Line, APKpure notify as normal on Honor 8? Without using notifications apps or keeping the app on in the BG.
Thanks to whoever helps, this is a big factor for me in the decision to buy this device.

Bricked m9+

Hi guys!!
I have rooted my M9+ using kingroot and all went well until I've replaced it with supersu me, when it got into bootloop. It's not firing up. I've wiped cache and factory reset from recovery and still no go.
After factory reset it got stuck at "finishing boot"

Any advice pls!!!

Help with Ruu/rom - [170] error win 10!

Could someone please help me out? I accidentally deleted my OS, so now i'm trying to reinstall with a RUU on my PC .
Whenever i try to use the program i follow the steps but it stops me with the [170] usb device not connected error!

What do i do? Fastboot and adb push wont help because it wont recognize the device, but when i go into devices i can see my phone no problem.

LGL33L: Download Manager disabled, can't use google play store. How to fix?

Phone is LGL33L (Sunset). No stock ROMs or any other useful recovery tools from the LG site, I think. Android version 5.0.1. Kernel version 3.10.49. Software version is L33L10a.

It looks like Download Manager got uninstalled/disabled. I made a full batch backup with TitaniumBackup before messing with anything. It's not restoring, TitaniumBackup is just spinning endlessly...

Is there any way to manually restore this component? Is there another solution to restore it?

Help please! Dead lenovo lemon x3 lite (mtk6753)

Hi,
I was trying to install a custom recovery on lenovo lemon x3 lite (mtk6753), and I have used "format" tab by mistake to format the phone, now the phone is dead, it doesn't turn on, it doesn't even vibrate when I press the power button.
When I try to flash it with sp flash tools I have this error:

LG G2 F320 with Marshmallow need Custom Recovery!!!

Hello Everyone!

I am correctly using LG G2 F320 that run on Marshmallow 6.0.1 (cm13) and after install this ROM I lost my recovery. Is this a normal thing that happen after install new ROM or what? And now I want to get back my recovery( last Time I use TWRP recovery that I use Autorec KK to install it). But anyway, for now when I try to install it again using Flashify and....another.....I don't know what happen there is no recovery mode or anything. It shows me a black screen. But I know how to return to normal. And now What I want is.....I need you guy to make autorec mm for lg g2 f320. I don't know how to install custom recovery. Please help!!!!!

I cannot get fastboot to detect my device.

I have the Huawei Ascend Y300-0151 and am trying to unlock the bootloader, in which I cannot get through their website because it's really buggy and won't accept my information.

So these are the steps I've taken:

- Download SDK Manager and install platform-tools and Google USB Driver
- Boot my phone up and connect to the PC
- I can run the command 'adb devices' and my device shows with a unique ID.

- Boot my phone into recovery/download mode (purple screen).
- Connect my phone, the PC detects it.
- However, when I run the command 'fastboot devices', nothing shows up.

Yes, I have installed a driver for my device and it's now showing as Android Bootloader Interface.

I've run out of ideas and have been googling for answers for a very long time, but to no avail.

The signal bar always has the small R above it and I've got no mobile data.

The three apn setting was automatically provisioned and can not be replaced. if I create another there's no option to switch to it.

I did get a pop-up when I was enabling roaming with an info message saying to visit three.dk for more info. I'm surprised this happened with a supposedly UK specific kdz.

Anyway, maybe I need an official three uk 20h flashable modem.zip? (can't find one)

At a bit of a loss as to what to try next.

Even though Knox trip flag = 0x1 if I restore a non-rooted stock rom...

... will Knox features work again? Such as secure folders?

I honestly don't care much about these features. I much prefer having access to Ad-Away. But if I do use Odin to flash a stock ROM (Without re-rooting) on the phone, even though my Knox flag is still tripped will Knox features work again?

Terrible GPS Performance

I've noticed lately that my G920T has a terrible time keeping GPS lock. Definitely a pain when I'm trying to use Waze or other GPS apps. It seems to be significantly worse in my car but overall, GPS Status reports that most satellite signal health is bad. I don't have a case on my phone, so I really have no idea what could be the issue. I've tried resetting AGPS to no effect.

I'm currently on XtreStoLite 3.3.1, running Arter's kernel, but I have experienced this issue on other kernels as well.

[Q] Google Play Services - battery drain

Hi, I have Z3 for some time now and basically since the beginning I have some issues with Google Play Services (GPS from now on). Since I had root I installed Amplify and restricted wake locks for GPS. Which helped sort of, but in the end GPS would still wake lock everytime it could, so I've tried to install custom ROM (with factory reset). Needless to say that GPS was still going mad. So, I've Uninstaller Google Now Launcher, which seemed to help for a while, but after while.. Well, you can guess... Ať this point I was pretty desperate, so even though I would like to use Location History, I've disabled it to find out if it really is what is causing this. aand... The same thing repeats. For a day my battery life improved significantly and few days later.. GPS is wake locking like it's some sort of party going on... So, at this point, I have no idea what to do. Before Z3, I had Z2, which was not having this issue. On the other hand I did use HTC Desire X for a while (when my Z2 was being repaired) and I had this issue. So, my question is.. Is anyone having these problems and if, do you have any suggestions? I will appreciate every feedback.

Pumpkin E0133 Recovery access ?

Hi all,

I have bought this model from Pumkin (1024x600, 2gb)

Model Number E0133
MCU Version R0HST16052800

CPU-Z tells me it's a RK3188 chipset, so we should be good.



Then we take a look at MCU version:



Uh, what is this?
So it's not a MTCB, MTCD... ?

I try dozen of times to access recovery mode using this method they mention on their website ( http://ift.tt/2dmgi6x )

Just long press the power button without release, and while short press the RST button on the radio itself. You may hear 3 beep sound comes out from the HU. Then you can release the power button, the HU will automatically enter into the recovery mode.

But it doesn't work, I can't enter recovery and the only thing it does (from time to time when I change slightly the timing and order of buttons) is to automatically erase and restore the device, there is no recovery shown.

So how can I access the recovery mode?
Also, being a RK3188 chipset but MCU version not showing anything familiar, I guess it's totally unsafe to try to flash anything on it?

[Guide] 4 ways to unpack/repack boot/recovery/logo without pc [IMG and BIN files]

In this guide I'm going to tell you about unpacking/repacking your boot(kernel),recovery.
I won't be responsible if u kill your phone and your mom beat the hell outta u.
Please do some research before trying this stuffs.


Method 1----
Put your boot or recovery.img in root/cache/here folder.

Get apktool mobile.

Open it and navigate to root folder.

Press hold on cache folder

Click on 'Get access permission(root)'

Now click on your img file

Select and click unpack all(mt6***) and bang...

U will see unpacked everything there.

And to repack click ramdisk folder and hit repack mt**** ...


Method 2---

Get unpack repack boot.img apk from google play

Put your boot.img in your SD card(default write disk)

Create a folder and name it unpack in SD CARD.

open that app and search for boot.img in SD CARD

Select it

Choose where to unpack(choose unpack folder)

Hit start and done

To repack,find out kernel base,page size in unpack folder.

Write them down in repack option

Select the zlimage(kernel) and select ramdisk


select the 'unpack' folder(where new img will b created)


click start and done


Method 3---(Advance Stuff)

Get Android Image Kitchen from play store

Open and click on ( ) sign

Select unpack and select boot.img or recovery.img
(U must should put the img in root of your default sd card and don't rename it)

U will see two folder like
ramdisk
and
kernel stuff

press hold on them and export them to modify

U can repack in same way by clicking repack option.


Method 4---

There is already a guide on xda about un/repack using terminal emulator.
U can check that out if u want to.

Fap on even if i got OEM off

I cant get fap off . I got FRP gone by being in download mode and holding volum button up and down + power and home button a few second and it will reboot. But Fap on wont get off even with OEM off.

i tried to copy the image and organize my SD card from the computer by connect the phone to computer (Win10 -12GB) but it's freezing even when i try to create new folder it takes forever, any suggestions

A2017G CPU Governor "EE"?

I just received my A2017G yesterday and will test it for the next two weeks or so. Before deciding it to keep or not.

While running devcheck by flar2 I came across the CPU Governor that the Axon 7 is using.

Having experience in porting and building CM for my old phone. I never came across a governor named "EE"? Anyone else saw this?

install-recovery.sh or custscript not working

Hi All

I've recently updated to a more recent stock firmware. Now - on previous versions I could put my auto-brightness script in /system/etc/install-recovery.sh, or on the root of the GPS SD card called custscript and they would work fine.

With the more recent versions, they won't auto-run. I can place the install-recovery.sh script in /system/etc/ and run it manually using root browser, but it won't auto load.

Anyone come across this?

weird issues

i had problem with my mmx a121 of bootlooop. i had my phone flashed it didnt respond and problem persisted. then lately phone died fully and when i connect it to my pc with all drivers installed its gets connected as qualcomm loader. it niether goes in recovery or fastboot. descriptively phone has died out. can anybody help:confused:

Push notifications not working/only working on Gmail and stock apps

So I've had this issue for as long as I can remember, the issue is simple to explain, basically for example if I'd get a message on Facebook messenger or WhatsApp the notification would never come up unless I actually opened the app, I always locked the apps in the task manager but that never seemed to help, also in battery options going to advanced I disabled auto cleaning for the apps I wanted notifications from, that having no effect whatsoever I'm coming here asking for your help, I think I'm running the chinese version of EUI 5.5.013s, and I read somewhere that the notification issue is fixed in the Indian version of EUI for the x800 which I can't find. Can anyone lend a hand?

Secure Check Fail: (PIT) - Can't flash original firmware

Hey guys.
Just trying to get back to stock on a Samsung S7 Edge.
Had no issues with device, with root.
Went to reset as I sold it, and it failed.
Have since done the following.

1. Tried to use odin to reinstall original firmware. Fails with SECURE CHECK FAIL : (PIT) in download mode.
2. Formatted the data partition in TWRP. This worked and allowed me to boot into a reset OS.
3. Tried to wipe system partition in a hope to allow me to modify it. Worked, but now have no OS.
4. Continually tried to use odin to flash without success. Device is detected, but when flashing keep getting the SECURE CHECK FAIL message.

Out of ideas on what to try next.
Any help much appreciated.

Help downgrading APP

Hello,
I've bought a Huawei smartphone, and it has installed a stock music player.
Here comes the problem, I want to install a previous version of the same app.
Now, I can't install the old app because the phone wont allow to substitute a new app for an older one.
I cant uninstall the stock player for the obvious reasons.
I cant get root access because the phone (Huawei Y6 II) isnt rootable yet.

So, the only way I think off resolving this problem is to change the "packagename", "version" or "id" in the old app, so that I can install it as if it was a different app.

I've tried some apps that claims they can do it, but until now, no success...
Can you point me in the right direction?

Smartshare.Provider murdering my battery

Hi All,

Anyone here have any issues with Smartshare.Provider killing your battery remorselessly? I can never make it happen but at random times sharing a picture results in my battery being almost completely drained in 2-3 hours. If I remove it I have no gallery. Please somebody help me be free of this on a permanent basis? This little thing is making me hate LG with a passion!

Does your note 4 make a squealing sound when the camera app opens on aosp ROMs?

I've noticed that my note 4 speaker squeals sometimes when I have the camera active. Its not a show stopper and think it's sort of funny. I'd like to resolve it so the sound is not included in my videos. Anyone else have this issue and what was the fix? I'm on PE1 firmware.

Bricked P9

Hello guys, please help me,

Since 3 days im the owner of a P9. Like other people from here i like to flash new firmware.
What i did was flashing the Nougat beta, that was fine, i decide to go back to stock and flash a ota file:
EVA-L09C150B180 the update run and the phone reboot, but now the problem. I'm stuck on the Huawei logo.
I can't enter recovery, i can't enter fastboot. Only the Huawei logo. I call the service center, they say i have to send it to the service center. But tomorrow i go on holiday. Can someone help me?

Xperia T - Hard brick - help

Good morning, I find myself in the situation of Hard Brick, no chance to communicate with your phone, no signs of life. connecting to the PC is recognized as qhusb_dload device, installed gordon is recognized as ZEUS Flash Device.
I flash CWM recovery mode 3.0.x and I deleted all system data, including the partition now interna..ed disaster!

I tried to follow this link guide with the following results (Of course is a guide to V)

I found myself in the situation of hard brick with Xperia T, using s1 returns me the phone message is not supported in this mode. the PC is recognized as ZEUS Flash Device (I installed Gordon) .. initially he told me qhusb_dload device. How do I proceed? where am I wrong? Thank you

p.s. I own the TA partition previously extrapolated but do not know how to use it

Volume limit

Is there any way to raise the volume limit above the threshold applied by EU Law? I did not get the prompt to allow me to increase my volume when connected to bluetooth in the car which means I'm amplifying a signal that is not being output very loudly from the phone meaning to increase the volume on the car stereo I have to put up with more interference.

Galaxy S7 keyboard

Hi there fellow's readers.
From a while now I noticed that auto check spelling option does not work with Samsung Internet browser all the time.
I have to mention that I always keep predictive text off cause I really hate this option. Even so, those two options are not related, so they can work independently.
I never use other browsers (not even Chrome) or 3rd parties keyboards.
Any suggestions or a way to fix this?

Kindle Fire 7" HD 2nd Gen stuck in Red screen and not getting discovered in Dev Mngr

Hi All,

My kindle fire 7" HD 2nd gen is showing red screen instantly after the kindle logo appears. It's also not getting detected in Device manager. But the kindle does seem to recognize the computer as when I connect it switched off to the computer, it switches itself on. I haven't tried to root it or install any CFW

How can I solve this, I want the kindle fire to be detected by the PC and want to be able to go to fastboot mode without the factory cable to recover the device.

I searched a lot in the forums here, But not able to proceed with any of them, as the device is not getting detected and I do not a factory cable and being in India, I would have to import it from outside.

How to change caller Id position in incoming call screen

Hello everybody
I want an xposed module to change caller Id position in incoming call screen to the top of screen.
I want an xposed module not a normal app because:
1- Modules doesn`t consume battery.
2-Modules cannot be forced to close by Purify or Greenify.
Or if there is another way to do this,please tell me.

Moto G 1 st Edition - XT1032 - Call recording and 4g LTE support

Hi,
I am using Moto G - 1st edition - XT1032 . I tried all the available call recording apps from playstore. No one is working correctly. Where as in Indian edition mobiles those apps are working fine. Mine is Global Simunlocked one and bought in US. How can i overcome this?

Similarly, My device is s3g supported. Is there any work around to support 4G Lte, VOLTE ?

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 7.0 (Nougat), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Reporting Bugs
Grab a logcat and here right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Pogo pins - fast charge or not?

It seems the N7 is stupid popular for car installs, and yes....this is another. I understand that fast charge requires the data pins be shorted on the USB, however do the pogo pins support fast charge? If so, does that affect OTG/USB host?

I see a lot about Timur's kernel and USBROM, however I'd like to use a modern version beyond JB since the install is centered around AutoMate. I think I'm getting a bit of informaton fatigue on this subject, so apologies if I've missed the answers in plain sight. I've done what I can with the remnants of today's brain. :D

frp locked s7 edge, tried the bypass, didn't work

my friend's s7 edge is frp locked, looked it up and found videos for the bypass, the problem is i can't copy text or open the camera, no icon in lock screen.

im now downloading a new ROM, is flashing via odin works? what option do i choose to completely wipe out the device?

Asus zenfone 2 ze500kl blocked/bricked

Hi everyone,
i have a problem with my zenfone 2 laser ze500kl, i try to root but an error blocked my phone.
Now the phone can't start and i have this error "Error: Can't load invalid boot image"
I try with fastboot with the original .img file but the phone starts correctly and when a reboot it the problem reappear
I also tried to "Apply update from SD card" with the original firmware downloaded from asus.com but when i restart the phone the problem reappear.
I wish to try with Asus Flash Tool but i cannot be able to find the correct firmware in .raw ( the program not work with the original firmware .zip)
Can someone help me please? it's just 3 days i try to resolve and i haven't another phone

RN3 Suddenly has no reception

Hi everyone,
My RN3 recently lost all reception (calls & internet) even though it can detect the sim carrier. I have gotten permission to unlock the bootloader, but like many have faced the "fail to verify" bs upon attempting to unlock. I have tried factory resetting which has not worked either.

Has anyone experienced this and found a fix without unlocking the bootloader?

This is a nightmare as I am from Australia and would need to send it back to China for servicing if I can't find a solution.

CM13 proprietary blobs on CM12.1

I'm a newbie in ROM porting, and my current goal is port CM12.1 on my Korean S5(codename lentislte) which is unsupported at the moment. So I got the CM source via repo, and downloaded the android_device_XXX and android_kernel_XXX files(Both for CM12.1) from a dev(sktjdgns1189) on Github. But, he didn't include an extract-files.sh file for extracting proprietary blobs - Instead, he has another repository android_vendor_XXX that has the blobs. But that one only has a CM13 branch.

So here's the question: Can I use CM13 proprietary blobs(The whole /vendor directory) when building CM12.1?

Bug report - not showing notification about bug report completed

Hi guys,
I just purchased Huawei P9 lite and i need to generate bug reports for my development purposes.
Unfortunately when i choose Report in Developer Options (in report a bug) nothing is happening.
Means no notification is appearing that bug has been captured.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix the issue?

Display bug in some apps (at the top and bottom)

Hello,

I use the fire os updated and into some apps like "Textra" or "ES Explorer" I have a display bug. Concretly, there is a blue bar at the top and sometimes at the bottom a bar pixelized.

Cannot reset my galaxy s6

When I try to make a factory reset it asks for my samsung account password and after I type it in nothing happens. When I try to remve the account it saysprcessing failed.
And when I try to deactivate the reactivation lock to flash twrp I again have to put in my password, but nothing happens, I typed it in like a million time but nothing happens and it's still activated :(

HELP! Front Camera not working!

Hi Guys,
I have a XA Ultra dual sim model purchased from eBay through a singapore reseller and ever since I got the phone the front camera has not worked - shows black screen or says camera is in use by another application. I have only seen it work once for a second and never came back.
I have tried resetting, safe mode, diagnostic, repair through Xperia Companion (which failed the repair process), all of which does not work.

Anyone have experience with this?

how to check the bootloader locked or unlocked?

i rooted my phone, but it has a display mistake and i will send it to zte.
i flashed the original stock rom with twrp, and i flashed the stock recovery with twrp! with adb and fastboot not working!!

My autoradio si bricked/blocked on the logo

I'm really sorry but I did not find the answer towards all these threads and in particular in the old one .
In fact when I try to start my autoradio hui fei 4.2.2 (KGL I think), it is bricked on the logo page and does not run anymore. I have tried to proceed the 3 methods of the forum to get into recovery mode without any success.

Considering buying, QU about RAM

I'm considering buying an unlocked 16GB Moto G4 Plus. I have a question about multi-tasking with the 2GB of RAM. Let me explain what I mean by giving scenarios:

Currently I'm using a LG Stylo (1GB RAM) but have used a Galaxy S6 Edge+ (4GB RAM).

I like that with the S6e+ I can stream internet radio, press home to open up the browser and view a page or take a pic to post to Facebook, press home then send a message in Hangouts, then press home (or recent apps) and go back to the browser without it having to reload the page because of low memory... all while still streaming.

On the LG Stylo if I press home and then go back to the browser it has to reload the page even if I don't run another app. When I try to post a picture to Facebook by the time it loads the camera or gallery it will need to reload the page and I lose my picture sometimes and have to try again.

My question: How well does the 2GB of RAM work on this phone? Can you browse and do other functions without the page being taking out of memory if you go to send a text or take a pic? What if you had two tabs open?

Galaxy s6 disable reactivation lock

I wanted to flash twrp, but it says that it's blocked by r/l (reactivation lock). But I wanted to remove the reactivation lock from the phone, but it didn't work. I just typed in the password and nothing happend. Then I wanted to remove the samsung account, but this didn't work too. So I deleted the account from my pc and on my phone it said that the account has been disabled.

But in the settings the reactivation lock still was activated, but everything was so grey and I couldn't do anything. That is very strange because the account is deleted, so the reactivation lock shouldn't be there.

I created a new samsung account, but i still cannot deactivate the reactivation lock and when I try to remove it, its says "processing failed".

How can I remove this now?

[Question] Can't receive OTAs anymore

Hello XDA,

I very recently got an HTC 10 and the 1st thing I did was install TWRP and root the phone using SuperSU. I completely forgot about firmware updates since those were rare on my old phone (HTC one m8).
Now, the problem I face is that I can't receive OTAs anymore since my recovery is modified.

My questions are:

1. Are OTAs worth to get? Do they significantly improve the phone's behaviour? The 1st OTA (1.21 > 1.30) is said to improve phone and wifi stability as well as camera. Is it that significant?
2. How should I go about installing OTAs now? Should I flash them?
