Naughty Dog originally had a very different look in mind for Uncharted's leading man.
Speaking to The Verge, Naughty Dog stalwart Josh Scherr went into some detail on the studio's original vision for Nathan Drake. Drawing off Uncharted's pitch video (which has actually been around since 2014), Scherr explained that the character was originally going to be "based partially on Johnny Knoxville, with a comically emotive face like something in a Dreamworks film."
Fortunately for us, that idea was nixed in favour of a more rugged, realistic look.
